Investors Keep Seeing Value In Junk Bonds |

Investors are still finding risk in high-yield corporate bonds an appealing investment theme.
The folks at BlackRock (BLK) today said that the iShares High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (HYG) in February attracted inflows of $246 million in February. Meanwhile, the most popular investment-grade corporate bond ETF had outflows. That was the iShares iBoxx Investment Grade Corporate Bond ETF (LQD), which suffered $365 million in negative net flows in the month.
That corresponds to data provided by the National Stock Exchange showing the other leading junk bond ETF, the SPDR High Yield Bond Fund (JNK), had inflow of $198 million.
So far this year, BlackRock says its HYG has brought in close to $750 million of new assets. Through last month, JNK has collected an estimated $424 million.
By comparison, LQD has outflows totaling $218 million through the initial two months of 2011.
