S&P upgrades FON to A- from BBB-

S&P upgraded the ratings of FON to A- from BBB- and assigned a stable outlook.

Strong business and financial profile:

The rating agency believes that the merged Sprint Nextel Corp. has shown steady operational and financial improvement in its growing national wireless business. S&P expects FON's robust business and financial profile will benefit greatly after the planned spinoff of its local wireline business.

Maintain "Outperform" investment opinion on FON:

We continue to maintain our "BBB+" credit rating, "Improving" credit trend, and "Outperform" investment opinion.
